SHIPPING, DELIVERY AND RETURNS POLICY
Effective date: 12 October 2026
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Blouvis Trading is committed to supplying quality fishing lures, fishing tackle and related angling products, with reliable delivery and fair after-sales service.
This Shipping, Delivery and Returns Policy explains how orders are processed, shipped, delivered, returned and refunded. It must be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
This Policy is intended to comply with applicable South African legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), and other applicable laws.
1. Shipping Provider
Blouvis Trading uses The Courier Guy as its designated courier service provider for the delivery of orders.
Orders will be delivered to the address or approved collection point selected by the customer at checkout, subject to the available services and delivery-area restrictions.
All shipments are subject to the applicable operational requirements of The Courier Guy, provided that these requirements do not unlawfully restrict any rights a customer has against Blouvis Trading under South African law.
2. Order Processing and Dispatch
Orders are processed after successful payment verification.
Our standard processing time is approximately 2–3 business days, unless a different timeframe is displayed at checkout or communicated to the customer.
Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and South African public holidays.
Orders placed during promotional campaigns, peak fishing seasons, public holidays or periods of unusually high demand may require additional processing time. We will communicate material delays where reasonably possible.
Customers will receive an order confirmation and, when available, shipping or tracking information once their order has been dispatched.
Where an item is unavailable or we cannot fulfil an order, we will notify the customer and provide any cancellation or refund remedy required by applicable law.
3. Delivery Areas and Estimated Delivery Times
Blouvis Trading aims to deliver throughout South Africa in areas serviced by The Courier Guy.
Delivery times depend on the destination, selected service, courier operations, weather conditions, public holidays and other circumstances affecting transport.
Estimated delivery periods and applicable shipping charges will be communicated at checkout or before the customer completes the order.
Any delivery estimate is indicative unless a specific delivery commitment has been expressly agreed. We will nevertheless take reasonable steps to meet the agreed or represented delivery period.
Where no different period has been agreed, the applicable statutory requirements concerning fulfilment of orders will apply.
We will notify customers of material delays and discuss appropriate remedies where an order is not delivered within the applicable agreed or statutory period.
4. Shipping Fees
Shipping fees will be displayed during checkout before the customer confirms the order.
Fees may vary according to parcel dimensions, weight, destination, courier service and other applicable charges.
Any free-shipping promotion will be subject to its clearly disclosed conditions, including any minimum order value, geographical restrictions or exclusions.
Additional delivery charges will not be imposed without an appropriate contractual or legal basis. Where a further charge requires the customer's agreement, we will obtain that agreement before proceeding.
5. Accurate Delivery Information
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information, including:
Blouvis Trading will use the information provided to arrange delivery and communicate with the customer.
If an incorrect address or incomplete contact information causes a delivery problem, customers should contact us as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to assist, although changes may not be possible after dispatch.
Where additional delivery or redelivery charges arise from incorrect customer-provided information, those charges may be passed on only where lawful, reasonable, properly disclosed and supported by the circumstances.
6. Tracking and Delivery Confirmation
Where tracking is available, customers will receive the relevant tracking details after dispatch.
Shipments can be tracked through The Courier Guy's official website:
https://thecourierguy.co.za/
Customers should monitor tracking updates and remain available to receive their parcels or arrange collection where applicable.
A tracking status marked as delivered may be investigated if the customer reports non-receipt. Customers should contact Blouvis Trading promptly so that we can liaise with The Courier Guy and investigate the matter.
A courier tracking record will be considered as evidence of delivery where appropriate, but it will not automatically override a genuine dispute about whether the order was received.
7. Failed Deliveries and Uncollected Parcels
If delivery cannot be completed because the recipient is unavailable, the address is incorrect, access is restricted or the parcel is not collected within the courier's applicable collection period, The Courier Guy may arrange another delivery attempt, hold the parcel or return it to the sender.
Where a parcel is returned to Blouvis Trading, we will contact the customer to discuss the available options.
Reasonable, disclosed redelivery costs may be payable where the failed delivery resulted from circumstances attributable to the customer, subject to applicable law.
Any refund or deduction following a failed delivery will be assessed individually. We will not automatically forfeit the full purchase price or impose a penalty that is unlawful or disproportionate.
8. Damaged, Missing or Incorrect Orders
Please inspect your order upon receipt.
If any of your products arrive damaged, are missing from the parcel, or differ from the products ordered, contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Please provide:
This information assists us in investigating the matter and making a claim against the courier company where appropriate.
Customers should retain the original packaging until the issue has been resolved, where reasonably possible.
Prompt notification is encouraged, but failure to report a problem immediately or provide photographs will not automatically extinguish a consumer's statutory rights.
Where Blouvis Trading is responsible for supplying incorrect, defective or damaged goods, we will provide the remedy required by applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, collection, redelivery or a refund.
We will not require a customer to resolve a dispute exclusively with The Courier Guy where the customer has a valid claim against Blouvis Trading.
9. Change-of-Mind Returns
We understand that customers may occasionally change their minds after purchasing fishing tackle.
Where a return is not required by law, Blouvis Trading may accept change-of-mind returns at its discretion, subject to the following conditions:
Fishing lures, hooks, lines and other tackle should be returned in a condition that allows us to assess whether they remain suitable for resale.
We may decline a discretionary change-of-mind return if the products have been used, damaged by the customer or returned incomplete, subject to any mandatory consumer rights.
For eligible discretionary returns, the customer will generally be responsible for the direct return shipping cost, unless we agree otherwise.
Any refund for a discretionary return will be processed after the returned products have been received and inspected. We will communicate the outcome and applicable refund timeframe.
Important: These discretionary conditions do not apply where they would restrict a customer's statutory cancellation, return, replacement or refund rights under South African law.
10. Statutory Cooling-Off Rights for Online Purchases
Under section 44 of ECTA, qualifying electronic transactions for goods may be cancelled without reason and without penalty within seven days after the date of receipt of the goods, subject to the Act's applicable requirements and exclusions.
Where this right applies:
This statutory cooling-off right is distinct from our discretionary change-of-mind policy.
Where another legal provision provides a different or additional right, that provision will also apply. Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude a right provided by law.
11. Defective Goods and Consumer Warranties
Blouvis Trading respects consumers' rights under the CPA.
In terms of section 55, consumers are entitled, subject to the Act, to goods that are reasonably suitable for their intended purpose, of good quality, in good working order and free of defects, and that comply with applicable standards and representations.
Where goods fail to satisfy the applicable statutory requirements, a consumer may be entitled to return them within the relevant period and elect a repair, replacement or refund, as provided by law.
This protection may apply to fishing tackle products, including defective reels, damaged components, faulty mechanisms, defective hooks or lures that do not meet the applicable statutory standards.
Damage resulting from misuse, ordinary wear and tear, improper storage, failure to follow instructions or accidental damage may be assessed differently, depending on the facts and applicable law.
We will assess reported defects fairly and will not automatically reject a claim simply because a product has been opened or reasonably examined.
Any manufacturer warranty offered with a product is additional to, and does not replace, applicable statutory consumer rights.
12. Returns Due to Unsuitability or Incorrect Supply
Customers should review product descriptions, specifications, sizes, colours, weights and compatibility information before ordering.
For example, fishing lures may differ in size, diving depth, buoyancy, colour, hook configuration and suitability for particular fishing conditions.
Where a product is correctly described and supplied but does not suit a customer's personal preference or fishing technique, the matter will generally be handled under our change-of-mind policy, subject to statutory rights.
Where Blouvis Trading supplied the wrong product or materially misrepresented the product, we will assess the matter under the CPA and other applicable laws and provide the remedy required.
If a customer communicated a particular purpose to us before purchasing and relied on our advice, the applicable statutory protections will be considered.
13. How to Request a Return or Refund
To initiate a return, replacement or refund, contact:
Blouvis Trading — Returns Department
Email: info@blouvistrading.co.za
Telephone: 061 520 9424
Subject line: Return or Refund Request — Order #[Order Number]
Please include your name, order number, product details, reason for the request and any supporting photographs or documentation.
We will respond with instructions concerning authorisation, packaging, the return address and the appropriate shipping arrangements.
Customers should not send products to a courier depot or other address without confirming the correct return procedure with us first, unless required by applicable law or agreed otherwise.
We will communicate the outcome of the assessment and the next steps as soon as reasonably possible.
14. Return Shipping Costs
Responsibility for return shipping costs depends on the reason for the return and the applicable legal requirements.
We may arrange collection through The Courier Guy where appropriate. We will inform the customer if a return waybill, collection or other arrangement is required.
15. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method where reasonably possible, unless another method is agreed with the customer or required by law.
Refund processing times may depend on the payment provider or financial institution. We will initiate refunds within the applicable statutory timeframe and communicate any relevant processing information.
Where a refund is required by law, it will not be made conditional on the customer accepting store credit or a voucher instead of the legally required remedy.
Any deductions for return costs or other charges will be made only where legally permitted and properly applicable to the transaction.
16. Lost or Delayed Parcels
If a parcel is delayed beyond the expected delivery period or appears to be lost, please contact Blouvis Trading with your order number and tracking details.
We will investigate the shipment with The Courier Guy and keep the customer reasonably informed.
If Blouvis Trading cannot fulfil the order within the agreed or legally applicable period, the customer will have the cancellation and refund rights provided by law.
We will not treat the courier's involvement as automatically removing our responsibilities as the seller.
Where compensation is recoverable from the courier, Blouvis Trading may pursue the relevant claim separately. This process will not unlawfully delay or limit a customer's statutory remedy.
17. Packaging and Product Handling
Blouvis Trading will take reasonable care to package the respective fishing tackle appropriately for transport.
Customers returning products must package them securely to reduce the risk of additional damage during transit.
Where products contain exposed hooks or other sharp components, customers should take appropriate precautions when handling and packing them.
Products must comply with applicable courier acceptance requirements. Certain goods or packaging types may be restricted under The Courier Guy's terms or applicable transport rules.
If a product cannot be shipped through the selected service, we will contact the customer to discuss a lawful and practical alternative or the appropriate cancellation and refund remedy.
18. Personal Information and Delivery
Blouvis Trading processes customer information in accordance with POPIA and our Privacy Policy.
We may share the recipient's name, delivery address, contact number, email address and relevant order details with The Courier Guy and other authorised service providers where necessary to process, deliver, track or investigate an order.
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is handled securely and used for lawful purposes.
Customers may contact us at info@blouvistrading.co.za with privacy-related enquiries or requests.
19. Limitation of Policy and Applicable Law
This Policy must be interpreted consistently with South African law, including the CPA, ECTA and other applicable legislation.
Nothing in this Policy excludes, limits or waives any consumer right, warranty, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
If any provision of this Policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable legal requirement will prevail to the extent of the conflict.
